Union Jack Designs for Interiors
Did you know that Union Jacks are the New Black?
For me, it would be hard to replace black. Having said that, classic Union Jack designs are such fun for interiors.
Here’s our Union Jack Table.

My Stripy Table
Finally, here’s my stripy table. I love it, I’m a sucker for stripes. This one was inspired by the Kate Spade store shown in the Feb 2011 blog, Interior Colours that Make you Smile .
Earthborn’s VOC-Free paints inspired me too. Lots and lots of paints give me an allergic headache. Sometimes, my face even goes numb. Might have something to do with all the chemistry classes at university where we washed our hands with acetone. Or…being a Kodak Technical Sales Rep for several years, up to my elbows in photographic chemicals when I’d pitch-in to help customers clean their processors. Bathing in all those chemicals was stupid, stupid, stupid.
Anyway, as Earthborn’s VOC Free Paints turned out to be headache-free too I was psyched.
I painted the stripes using Pink-a-Boo, Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty (from their proAqua eggshell range) and Cricket and Polka Dot from their clay range. I’ve got to say I was a little hesitant about using a clay paint for stripes. For some reason it sounded like it would be rough and not easy to apply. Not so. It went on great and covered really well.
Once I’d taped the table, I got right to painting. Looked kind of odd with the tape…
…but once it came off…Wow!
I first spotted the Earthborn paints at a local stockist, Colours of Esher. You can use Earthborn’s postcode search to find your nearest U.K. dealer.

Carpe Momo Designs chosen for Corporate Website
Origin Brand Consultants liked the quirky art we create for walls and tables so much that they chose it for the Power of Creativity page of their newly designed website (to be launched end of March).
How cool. I’m psyched.
